Yeah, I totally waited in the line that snaked around the theater too. It seems that almost all of the theaters completely sold out on all their screens for the midnight showing. We managed to get some tickets at our favorite theater and had to wait in line for some time. It wasn't too long of a wait though. There were only two screens showing at our theater so when we got it they told us we could go in either one we chose. 1 or 16. I chose 16 and when we walked in, the ushers were saying that people were boxing in room 1. And the other dude was like "boxing? what do you mean?" and the other usher was like " yeah man, their boxing. fighting, you know, with fists" Anyway, I thought that was funny. I wonder what they were fighting about. Probably something stupid. So yeah, when we got in we had to sit near the front. It wasn't so bad. I prefer the back that way no one is kicking my seat. The a-hole behind me did start to kick my seat, but it gradually stoped once the movie started.
I must say, I was mildly disappointed in the audience. It seemed like there were a lot of a-holes who didn't even know what they were there to see. Like, they just came out because it was the "thing to do" or something. And when the Watchmen preview came on, S and I totally geeked out and we could hear a couple of people do the same. Everyone else was like "huh? whas dat?" I dunno, I hope that doesn't make me a snob, but dang people. hah, actually that does kind of make me an a'hole doesn't it? Hmm. I still think those abercrombie bitches are more of a-holes that I am. Anyyywayyyyy. yeah I like a more enthusiastic crowd when it comes to things like this. It makes it an experience rather than just another movie. So yeah, totally got a glimpse of the Watchmen. It's gonna be epic. I was in awe of it. Truly in awe. I can't wait!
OH yeah, and Batman. It was fantastic. Then again, I'm not really to be trusted to critique this one. I don't go to see movies I'm not gonna like. That way I'm not TOO disappointed. So, yeah I was totally ready to be satisfied and I was. It delivered exactly what I thouht it would. Erin Eckhart as Dent was great. Maggie Gyllenhal was great. I LOVE Christian Bale and Gary Oldman. Heath Ledger did a most excellent job as Joker. He was terrifying, yet he made me giggle. I kept looking for a blonde blue eyed girl though. Ya know, Harley. heh, probably not likley to ever happen, but I thought it'd be nice to just get a glimpse of her. It was weird too how they never really show commissioner Gordon's daughter. So yeah, it was a great movie experience and I'd love to go and see it again.
Oh yeah, I do have one movie under my belt I'm ashamed of. Went to see Journey to the Center of the Earth. It was Gawdawful. Terrible. Don't go see it!!! Please! We only went to get the whole 3D experience. Which was kind of disappointing. I hope to God they don't make ALL movies in 3D. It's really not necessary.
So yeah, I waste a lot of money on movies. But I sneak my own candy in. Dang it. Heck yeah.
One minute it's cold, the next it's hot as heck. This freaky weather is really starting tick me off. I bet this is what it's like to go through menopause. Poor geezer ladies. Ew, someday, I'll be a geezer lady. Great.
Anywayyyy, watched the Darjeeling Limited. It was alright I guess. Kinda got weird right away. I mean with the first little short movie. Natalie Portman shows off her rear end and it got all quiet. Awkward silence ^.^ Actually, I wasn't too fond of it now that I think about it. Wes Anderson is great n'all, but I was kind of disappointed. I dunno, I can't exactly explain why. Just thought it would be funnier I guess.
Oh! watched the Doomsday movie. We have a little 3 soon to be 4 year old
nephew running around and he LOVES all things superhero. So we all watched it together. He lost interest right away. I guess it was a bit too boring for him in the beginning. It is a bit more adult. At least the dialogue is between Superman and Loise Lane. I don't think it's exactly intended for young children anyway. But he loved the action and fighting between Doomsday and Supes. Making all kinds of his own sound effects and what not. I've got to say, the lines on Superman's face were Super annoying. It really took me out of the movie and I kept thinking to myself "Why did they draw those stupid lines on his face!?!" I suppose they didn't want it to look TOO much like Bruce Timm's Superman. Though, I love the way they did Loise. She looked great and Anne Heche did a great job vocally. Lex was Lex and the movie is just getting started when Supes dies. Overall, I loved it and well I think I was going to love it no matter what. Bruce Timm was producer and it was great watching the extras. I've got a bit of a crush on Bruce Timm. He's fantastic :| So next up on the list is Justice League New Frontier. I can't wait for this to come in!! It looks off the heezy. For reezy.
Also, book 2 and 3 came in for Y the Last Man. I haven't started them yet, but S says they are pretty good and he's anxious to get to book 4 and 5. Really hooked him in.
Oh yeah! Went to theaters to check out Be Kind Rewind. Staring Mos Def and Jack Black and Danny Glover. I loved it! It was so funny and loveable. It was really a cute flick. Mos Def works in this old video/thrift store for Danny Glover and Jack Black is the cooky friend who lives at the junk yard across the street. Anyway, Danny Glover leaves Mos Def to take care of the store while he's away doing "research". Jack Black ends up erasing ALL the tapes in the store and they decide to start making their own versions of already made movies. Like Ghostbusters and Rush Hour. It's really great. I won't give away the ending, but it was kind of sad. But not really sad. It's directed by Michel Gondry who also did Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. He also does some pretty awesome kick ass music videos. Even if the bands kinda suck it, the videos look amazing. He's super talented.
I had another zombie dream too. It never fails. I have zombie dreams like every other week or something. Some kind of a survival dream. It's either zombies or some kind of apocolyptic situation. And I'm always running from something terrifying. And just when I'm about to battle the baddies, I wake up. Or once, the world was ending (in my dream of course) and everyone was armed with swords and ready to battle these giant demon things and just as I begin to run into battle, my sword breaks :| so I have to hide and try to fix it. It was really rediculous. I always manage to survive. So that's a good thing I guess. Well that's all I suppose. Adios.
I can't even think of anything to put down now. The heat just kind kills any life in me. It also makes me terribly sleepy.
Atleast the library continues to supply me with tons of dvds. Let's see here, we've got
In Living Color Season 4 - watched most of it already, remember standing in line on our way to lunch, sixth grade, and everyone would be talking about this show. Ahh, the Wayans family, super funny.
Agua Teen Hunger Force 4 - Heh, I love this show. Favorite character? CARL! Freaking awesome! hehe. ahhh good times.
Thundercats Season 1 Vol. 1 - Whoa, talk about flashbacks. Is it me or were the theme songs of our childhood just freaking awesome? Thunder thunder thunder thunder cats! *yay*
Grandmas Boy - starring most of Adam Sandlers lackeys Allan Covert, Peter Dante. I actually really like these guys. They are usually the highlight for me in most of his flicks. I dunno, I think they are funny. Anyway, it was way funnier than I thought it would be. I especially loved this one dude I dont' know his name but he's hilarious. He was on Reno 911 as a dude prostituting himself in the restroom of "Tacos tacos tacos tacos" omgoodness, it was so silly.
Alright, let's see, what else. Oh yeah, Pulse. I haven't watched it yet tho. It's probably not that scary. Meh
Transamerica - It started off kind of boring, but once you get introduced to the family, it gets pretty good. Overall, it was ahight. Heh.
Oh yeah! Sailor Moon - Birthday Blues VHS - This was a three episode cassette. Ahhh, how I miss this cartoon. The first episode is about Sailor Venus and how lonley she is. Heh. The second and third are about Sailor Moon and how no one seems to have remembered her birthday. Uhm, I'm getting kind of lazy now, so I'm not going to go into detail. Sorry.
Hmm, I guess that's all for now. Also managed to fit in Return of the Jedi amongs all the dvds.
Han Solo. *swoon*
Life that is. And when dealing with dial-up, it is even more so.
I'm searching for some Traci Thirteen images and coming up short. The only pic I can find is a bit too much. She
seems to be in her panties, and has a bad case of "muffin top". I know I know, that's not unusual when dealing with comic imagry. I'm just looking for something cute and descent. I'm not a girl who buys comics, I only read them when I can get my hands on something. And that is not very often, so I turn to people who do read them and then read what they thought of them. Ahh, so sad. Well I love a certain blog in particular (Green Lantern Butts Forever, it's in my links on the side bar.) and she did an entry on the Blue Beetle #16 issue and it featured Traci Thirteen. I really liked what I read and I hope I can get a copy of this someday. She also reviewed Sinestro Corps #1 and I'm almost drooling. It looks incredible.
Ooh! I did get to read "Teen Titans - A Kid's Game" last week. I didn't really like it. I'm so used to the characters from the cartoon, and their personalities that it was hard to like Starfire and her hot headedness (? did that make sense?) Yeah, and the only character I really liked was Kid Flash/Impulse. He was actually really cool. Anyway, enough talk of stuff I know little of.
Got to watch a few movies recently. "The Prestige", "Stranger Than Fiction" and "The Persuit of Happyness".
The Prestige was actually super awesome. It stars Hugh Jackman and
Christian Bale. The dude that directed Batman did this one too, right after Batman actually. It's pretty badass. I think I'm a lot like Hughe Jackman's character. Ooh, wait let me explain a bit about the movie. Not too much of course for those of you who have yet to see. (that is assuming of course anyone reads this heh) Ok, well Bale and Jackman are magicians and have this weird feud going on. Death is involved and it's very sad. Anyway, Bale has this awesome new trick and Jackman just can't figure out how it could possibly work, unless that is, it was REAL magic. Anyhow, he goes on this weird wild goose chase to figure it out. There are some twists and turns and the ending is ghoulish.
Stranger Than Fiction was cool too. But I gotta say, it is a rare thing for me to hate a movie, but then again I only watch movies I think I might like. And I did like this one. Maggie Gyllenhal made me want to be a bakery shop owner. But I wouldn't just have a bakery shop, I'd have a bread van too like the Pandulceria's around here. (is that what they are called?!) Well, Will Ferrell is great and not over the top and the romance between him and Ms. Gyllenhal is adorable. There is this song that Will Ferrell plays for her and it's so cute and romantic. It's no wonder she falls in love with him. "Whole Wide World" by Wreckless Eric. Anyway sorry if I ruined it for anyone lol.
And lastley, The Persuit of Happyness. happyness is spelled incorrectly for a reason and you'd have to watch to movie to see why. It's lovely and best of all, based on the life of a real person.
Waiiiiit a minute. I can see this post is gonna be stupid long. I'm just going to cut it short now. I hate when I start blabbing on and on.
I saw some movies, and they were pretty good. The End.
Uhm, yeah that's it for now. I'll be back in a couple of days, 2 maybe 3. That seems to be the cycle.
Adios!
